The Ohio 4-H Center provides the conference, meeting, and training facilities needed to facilitate 4-H program development and implementation as well as additional work areas and offices for Extension Agents, Volunteers and 4-H Members.
Of special interest are the energy saving aspects of the design. The Ohio 4-H Center is the first building on the OSU Campus to achieve LEED certification. Environmentally friendly strategies in building and site design include: the implementation of a geothermal heating and cooling system, choice of sustainable materials, use of day-lighting strategies, alternative transportation & parking solutions, water use reductions and minimal disturbance of land in the construction process.
Recognized with the Outstanding Achievement Award by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Ohio in 2009.
